Will Smith is probably my favorite prospect heading into the next NHL Draft.
Obviously, it’s Connor Bedard who will attract most attention on the evening of the first round, which will take place in Nashville on June 28th… But that doesn’t mean that the other young players are bad or anything.
On the contrary, even. We begin to know that this is an excellent vintage when we think that several young people might become excellent players in the big league one of these four.
The links between Smith and the CH are strong, moreover. We all know that Kent Hughes knows him very well since he managed him for three years with the Boston Junior Eagles…
And there, let’s say that there is a whole new link that has been created between Quebec and the main party concerned. It’s really not news that has a major impact on the draft, but it’s still pretty cool.
In fact, we read in a text from La Poche Bleue that Smith chose a Quebec store for his draft suit. He decided to “do business” with GLORIUS, a company led by Jean-François Bédard and Patrick Feio. Note that the GLORIUS company has been dressing American League and NHL players since 2017-2018.
I like this!
Let’s remember for fun that the American is loved within the Montreal organization, so much so that he would even be perceived as a Nikita Kucherov 2.0 in the eyes of some people at the Canadian:
The group of recruiters seem to really adore the American

With his recent performances at the U18 World Championship, I tend to believe that he will no longer be available when the Canadian takes the podium to make his selection in 5th place.
If he falls to the rank of CH, on the other hand…
You have to think that the Canadian will not let him go. Again, he’s so well known within the organization that it’s hard to believe Kent Hughes won’t pick him with his pick if ever Smith is still there at No. 5.
Barring a real surprise that would turn out to be quite simply huge, we get along.

– Absolutely.
That’s an excellent question. Logan Cooley might very well decide to return another year to the NCAA while waiting to see what will happen with the Coyotes.
