Echoes from the slap that Will Smith slammed at the Oscars sharp-tongued Chris Rock continue to resonate in his acting career. The action movie star received the coveted golden statuette, but left the squad American Film Academy. And now the production of a new film with his participation has also been suspended.

Netflix was going to shoot a picture called Fast and Loose (“Fast and Loose”) with Will Smith in the title role and David Leitch (“Blasting Blonde”, “Deadpool 2”, “Fast and Furious: Hobbs and Shaw”) as director. But even before the scandalous Oscar, the director broke away from the project. The streaming service quickly found a replacement for him, but following the incident with Chris Rock, he quietly pushed the project into the background.

According to the publication The Hollywood Reporter, the studio is clearly afraid to promote a movie with a disgraced star. Smith may lose this role altogether. His other projects, by the way, are also experiencing difficulties following what happened at the Oscars, including those in the development of Bad Boys 4.

We add that the film Fast and Loose was supposed to tell the story of a crime boss who lost his memory. As he picks up pieces of his past, he learns that he led a double life as a wealthy kingpin and CIA agent.
