Daisy is one of Nintendo’s princesses. He is a character that first appeared in the 1989 Game Boy game, Super Mario Land. It’s a bit the opposite of Princess Peach even if we are far from a Wario (compared to Mario- moreover when a real “Weach“?) Daisy is the princess of the Sarasaland kingdom and she is presented as a strong woman with a strong character and never reluctant to fight. However, it is mainly as “guests” of the multiplayer games of Nintendo players know it. It is found in quite a few multi-Nintendo games: Super Smash Bros., Mario Party, Mario Kart and almost all Mario Sports. It is also found prominently in Mario Smash Football released in 2005 on GameCube and in its sequel Mario Strikers Charged Football released in 2007 on Wii. And logically, we should also find it in the new opus of the famous football series: Mario Strikers: Battle League Football… However, for the time being, Daisy did not appear either in the presentation trailer neither in the artworks revealing the ten playable characters straight into the new game…
It is true that these last years, other female characters have been featured by Nintendo. First, the sublime Harmony, the unforgettable galactic fairy of Super Mario Galaxy which we now find in each new multi Nintendo title and which is even entitled to his Rabbids version in Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope (who looks really hilarious.) But also Pauline, Mario’s first girlfriend, whom everyone usually takes for Peach in the first Donkey Kong and which for a long time remained in the paws of the super gorilla before making a remarkable comeback in 2017 in Super Mario Odyssey.
It is true that alongside these two icons, Daisy has not yet had the right to a real role in a major Nintendo game. However, the princess has fans. Just read the many comments on social networks hoping to find it in Mario Strikers: Battle League Football to be convinced. Many lament its lack of basic in-game characters, others swear they won’t buy Mario Strikers: Battle League Football if Daisy is left on the bench…
This is not the first time that fans have complained about the absence of one of their favorite characters in a Nintendo game. We remember Waluigi, claimed loud and clear in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate but who will have to be satisfied with her Mii costume… In the case of Daisy, it is still quite possible to find her in Mario Strikers: Battle League Football especially since we can already expect DLC…
