Super League: Franco Foda is a candidate for coaching at champions FC Zurich
The search for a coach at FCZ has ended. André Breitenreiter’s successor will be presented just in time for the start of training.

Champion FCZ will present their new coach this followingnoon in the Letzigrund. According to Blick information, there are many indications that Franco Foda (56) will succeed André Breitenreiter.
Foda most recently coached the Austrian national team, where the contract with the German was not renewed at the end of March following the out in the World Cup playoffs once morest Wales.
He took over the Ösi-Kicker from Marcel Koller in 2017. Previously, Foda made a name for himself as a trainer at Sturm Graz.
He once played for FCB
The former Germany international has already spent six months as a player in Switzerland: he defended for FCB in 1997. Now he might return to the Super League as a coach from FCZ.
Foda corresponds to the profile of requirements with which Zurich went on the search when the departure from Breitenreiter to Hoffenheim became apparent. Because other candidates like Achim Beierlorzer (54), Thomas Letsch (53) or Torsten Fröhling (55) would have been such coaches from Germany with years of experience in the professional field.
The same goes for Alexander Zorniger (54), who was also in contact with him. But Apollon Limassol’s coach remains in Cyprus, where he has a current contract and, moreover, enters the Champions League qualifier a round later than Zurich.
The FCZ starts today, Wednesday and Thursday, with performance tests in preparation for the new season, before going onto the pitch for the first time on Friday. With Foda as trainer?
