Will Blau-Weiß Linz strike again on the transfer market?

Tomorrow, Thursday, the transfer window in Austria also ends – at the end of the summer transfer period, Bundesliga football club FC Blau-Weiß Linz could become active again: As the OÖN learned, the club is said to be in final negotiations with an additional defender.

Due to the injury-related absences of Martin Moormann and Lukas Tursch as well as the exclusion of Fabio Strauss in Klagenfurt (1:3), coach Gerald Scheiblehner’s team currently has a shortage, especially in the center-back position.

One of the candidates who could close this gap is said to be a Swiss-Austrian dual citizen. OÖN research has come across the man: Silvan Wallner from the Swiss first division club FC Zurich.

The 22-year-old would be flexible in defence and has already played four league games and four games in the Conference League qualification this season. He played all of his games as a left-back – a position for which the Swiss first division club has brought in two players during this transfer window – who will probably be ahead of Wallner over the course of the season. Which is why a move to Linz would make sense.

In addition to Wallner, there have also been rumors of possible interest in Rapid player Aristot Tambwe-Kasengele. The 20-year-old was already a test player in the steel city during the summer preparations and has played in all four games of the Hütteldorfer’s second team in the second highest league so far this season.

No matter which player the blue-whites sign, it will be a race against time: tomorrow, Thursday, the shop closes – after that, nothing will happen.
