Local Self Government Minister MV Govindan said that the digital reserve process in Kerala should be carried out with the participation of the people. He was speaking following inaugurating an online workshop for people’s representatives in the district to explain the digital reserve process. Committees will be formed from the district level to the local level ahead of the digital survey. Expert assistance will be made available at the required stage. The Minister said that the people’s representatives should take the lead in the work of the People’s Committees and come forward to ensure the full cooperation of the landowners.

The land records should be checked during the reserve to make sure there are no errors. Boundaries should be set so that they are clearly visible. The survey can be completed very quickly if the landlords are ready before the officers arrive. The government aims to complete the reserve without delay. The Minister also directed the people’s representatives to make the activities part of the Gram Sabhas and provide necessary assistance and co-operation.

The land issues in Kerala cannot be solved without the use of digital reserve scientifically. That is why the Revenue Department has started the survey process. Digital reserves have been completed in 89 villages in the state.

Is in progress in 27 villages. The digital reserve is to be set up in 1550 villages. Digital reserve can be done in a timely manner only with the cooperation and support of the local bodies. The main need of Kerala is to make this campaign a success. He said the government was trying to use science and technology for progress at various levels.
