Wildberries Warehouse Fire: Investigative Committee’s Response and Damage Estimate

A powerful fire at the Wildberries warehouse, which had been extinguished all day in the Pushkinsky district of St. Petersburg, interested the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin. He instructed his subordinates to investigate.

As the Investigative Committee reported on January 13, Bastrykin instructed the leadership of the St. Petersburg Investigative Committee to initiate a criminal case and submit a report on everything that will be established.

“Early this morning in the village of Shushary near St. Petersburg, a fire occurred in a finished goods warehouse. Information regarding the incident received wide coverage in the media,” the Investigative Committee explains.

The fire on the Moscow highway continues to burn. The flames were stopped in an area of ​​70 thousand square meters. Firefighters prevented it from spreading to a truck parking lot and a nearby electrical substation.

According to estimates from managing partner of INFOLine-Analyst Mikhail Burmistrov, damage from the fire might amount to regarding 15 billion rubles.
