2024-01-18 21:15:00

The Wildberries warehouse building in Shushary near St. Pereburg, where a fire occurred on January 13, was not insured. This was reported by two sources in the insurance market.

“The company discussed concluding an insurance contract with one of the large insurance companies shortly before the fire, but it never came to the point of signing,” said one of RBC’s interlocutors. Another source said that according to his information, one of the large insurance companies only insured the goods, but not the building.

Representatives of Wildberries, however, told RBC that they might not disclose information regarding insurance. Therefore, it was not possible to obtain accurate data regarding the issue.

Earlier in St. Petersburg there was a fire at one of the largest Wildberries warehouses. Rescuers extinguished an open fire in a warehouse a day later. After the emergency, security forces carried out raids in the Moscow offices of Wildberries. Read more regarding this in the material URA.RU.

Updated (01:30 Moscow time): URA.RU sent a request to the Wildberries press service to clarify the above information, a response is expected.
