There have been wild buffaloes inhabiting Lujiaoxi in the forests of New Taipei City for a long time. In this regard, the Gaotan Department of New Taipei City stated that in addition to studying the containment of attacking buffaloes, it is also considering installing cattle shelters to prevent similar incidents.

The incident happened in the area of Shulin Ganyuan No. 2 Bridge and Lujiao Creek in New Taipei City. Local people pointed out that these wild buffaloes have lived here for 20 or 30 years. .
The people said, “(Buffaloes) are probably all over there (living), and they don’t know how to chase people, so they ride a little slower.”, “No one raises them. There used to be 20 to 30 cows, but now there are only 20. many.”
In this regard, the Gaotan Department of New Taipei City stated that these wild buffaloes usually do not take the initiative to attack, but in order to prevent similar incidents from happening, they will refer to the method of Qingtiangang in Yangmingshan and install cattle shelters to separate the cattle and the crowd.
Li Junru, the patrol management team leader of the Gaotan Office in New Taipei City, said, “We will also work with the Animal Protection Office, the Zoo Yang Management Office and experts to discuss suitable containment and capture methods.”
This month, there were also scalpers in Taoyuan wandering the streets and running wildly in the alleys. It remains to be clarified whether the cows are in estrus recently. Fortunately, no one was injured in the two incidents.
