Wife Lena’s warm words about Peter Haber – the support during the difficult battle with illness: “Means a lot”

Peter Haber is happily married to actress Lena T. Hansson. Together they have three children – one together and one each from previous relationships.

Peter has long struggled with hypochondria, but when Lena was diagnosed with cancer, he was forced to put his own worries aside to support his great love.

– The hypochondriac automatically steps aside when someone gets really sick, says Peter in “What a life!

Peter showed his talent as an actor early on in the role of Father Rudolf in the classic “Sune’s Christmas”. A few years later, he accepted another role that would change his life – the police officer Martin Beck. After 27 years and 50 films, the role is today synonymous with his name.

At home, Peter has always had the support of his wife Lena and their children. The couple first met during the filming of Arthur Miller’s “The Witch Hunt”, but it wasn’t love at first sight.

– I remember you thought I was very model, but I wasn’t, I was just very shy, says Lena.

– I misinterpreted it, explains Peter.

They also recount their first, rather stiff, handshake, but explain that love blossomed during the second “Witch Hunt”.

Lena T. Hansson’s warm words about the relationship with Peter Haber

After 30 years, their love is still strong. When Lena visits “What a life!” however, she takes plenty of time to answer the question about what is the best thing about Peter – so long that Peter jokingly exclaims:

– Yes you, it wasn’t easy!

– No, but now it was the best!, Lena replies sharply.

But when Lena finally answers, she gives a warm and thoughtful answer about Peter’s best quality and the key to their happiness.

– I think the best thing is that he takes life very seriously. But actually, even more important is that – at least in the last ten years – we have learned to laugh at things together instead of getting stuck in anger, irritation and arguments, says Lena.

Peter’s support during his wife’s difficult battle with cancer

But their relationship has not always been easy. Several years ago, Lena suffered from cancer and needed to undergo radiation therapy. Peter, who has long struggled with hypochondria and his own fear of illness, then decided to put his own fears aside and give Lena his full support.

– That hypochondriac automatically steps aside when someone gets really sick, says Peter in the program, and continues:

– When you realize that this mess going on in my brain has no meaning. Now the focus is fully on Lena and the cancer.

Lena also talks about the great support Peter was during her illness.

– Peter was with me throughout the cancer journey – and really physically present, she says and turns to her husband.

– You sat with me during all the chemotherapy sessions and medical check-ups.

Peter also expresses how much Lena has meant to him through both his private life and his career.

– It means a lot, it means that in that anxiety and low self-confidence, I can of course be incredibly annoying and difficult to deal with, but Lena has persevered anyway, says Peter.

– So far!, jokes Lena.

At the end of the meeting with the wife, Renée managed to surprise Peter by letting him relive a concert with Bo Kasper’s Orchestra.

You are so nice together, Peter and Lena!
