There is bad news from Widi Vierratale. The vocalist was reported to have committed pornographic acts because he opened his clothes during a gig.
The action took place in October 2022, when there was a video of Widi Vierratale removing his shirt on stage. At that time, Widi and Vierratale were performing in Palu, Central Sulawesi.
This action turned out to make some people uncomfortable. Widi was also reported to Bareskrim regarding his stage action, even though it was only in the form of an information report and not yet a police report.
Zainul Arifin who claims to be the attorney for the people of Palu explained that he made the report. Widi was accused of committing pornographic acts.
The evidence provided to corroborate the report is the video of the action when Widi took off his shirt at the end of the stage and immediately threw it at the audience. This is considered a bad example.
“Behavior that is not an example for the younger generation, that’s why we represent the people of Sulawesi, as attorneys to submit this report,” Zainul said at Bareskrim Polri.
Mualim Bahar, Chairman of the Sulawesi Youth Forum, regretted Widi’s action of taking off his shirt. Actions like that are considered not good culture and are said to be doomed in the form of a tsunami.
“This means that it is an important note for us, culture like that in Sulawesi is not our culture and please don’t destroy our culture, our village, we don’t want doom in our village,” said the Mualim.
They are still opening up opportunities for mediation and demanding that Widi apologize within 3×24 hours. If Widi doesn’t do this they will make a police report.
Widi is threatened with being reported for criminal charges related to the pornography law, Law number 44 of 2008 concerning pornography, is threatened with being charged with Article 10 juncto Article 36 with a threat of 10 years and a fine of IDR 5 billion.
Prior to the reporting, Widi had already provided clarification. He admitted that he was relaxed regarding the action of undressing.
“Yes, what regarding metal bands, don’t worry,” said Widi when met in the Cilandak area, South Jakarta, some time ago.
“Every stage will indeed have attractions, the name is also a band, musicians, starting from our metal, right,” he continued.
According to Widi, performing various actions on stage is common. However, he previously assessed that the condition of social media was not what it is now.
“Now the difference is that now there are only social media, before not. Actually, things like that are commonplace. For old people, it’s normal,” he said.
“That’s it, isn’t it a BH, it’s underwear, it’s sportswear, a sports bra, now it’s good, right,” said Widi Vierratale.
