There is great dissatisfaction among many Moroccan “slaves” and citizens, in light of the prevailing expectations regarding the rise in the selling prices of Eid sacrifices this year, especially in light of the social and economic situation caused by the Corona pandemic and successive years of drought.
In this context, a group of farmers participating in the International Agricultural Exhibition in Meknes revealed that “the prices of sacrifices this year will reach record prices, due to the decrease in the number of sheep heads as a result of the drought, which has caused prices to rise.”
In a related context, they confirmed that “the price of sacrifices this year will witness an increase ranging between 30 and 40 percent compared to last year.”
Regarding the quality of the Moroccan herd, the same farmers reported that it remains very good in general, given that the herders depend on natural fodder, which gives the Moroccan farmer great credibility,” noting that “the herd is available and can cover the demand, despite the impact of the drought that lasted for five years.” “.
They concluded by calling on the government to pay attention to the farmers, given that “the support provided by the guardian ministry is insufficient and its value must be increased,” as they put it, calling on the Ministry of Agriculture to “provide strong support to the Moroccan farmer so that he can reduce the burden of imports on the state.”
