Robert Thoma’s theatrical masterpiece “Choose your death my love”, a play that with its subversive plot took the audience’s breath away until the last second, hosted the Patras International Festival on the evening of Tuesday, July 23.

The play was adapted and directed by Thanasis Papathanasiou and Michalis Reppa, with Katia Dandoulaki, Anna Maria Papacharalambous, Penelope Anastasopoulou, George Gerontidakis and Panos Stathakopoulos composing a troupe of excellent protagonists.

The performance was an adaptation of the work “The Double Game” by R. Tomas, one of the most popular works of the multi-award winning author. The whirlwind developments and twists fueled the suspense and tension until the last moment.

The theater-loving public of Patras saw a play that hid wicked secrets and surprises that had the signature of the “maestro” of psychological thrillers, Robert Thomas.

On the stage of the Municipal Summer Theater in Ritsou Street, the embattled heiress Françoise Corban, who lived in her villa with her younger husband Paul Corban and her devoted housekeeper Adele, “paraded”. Paul’s paper debts and the pressure he puts on Françoise to pay them off, heightening the tension to the extreme.

All this in an atmosphere burdened by night noises disturbing the tranquility of the villa. Noises and traces of a presence that even the police director himself could not explain… Baroness Sardoni’s sudden visit and what she has to say further confused the already tense situation.. A spider’s web was woven around Françoise and no one he knew to the end who was friend and who was foe…

The performance was attended by the deputy mayor of Culture Apostolis Angelis, municipal and district councilors.
From the Patras International Festival, the actors of the show were given collector’s bottles of Mavrodaphni by Achaia Clauss, (the company produced them in limited numbers for the event).
