There’s something new on Instagram. The social network has started rolling out a new button that willliking a story without automatically sending a private messageas was the case until then. Announced Monday February 14 by the director of the platform, Adam Mosseri, this new option is gradually being activated in a limited number of countries. We asked the company to know when it will be available for the French market.
In concrete terms, Instagram users will soon discover a new heart-shaped button that can be clicked when viewing stories. In this case, the recipient will not be notified by an automatic message as now. The interaction will be counted in the section where people who have viewed the story already appear, a space only accessible to the account holder.
Through this change, Instagram intends to relieve the inboxes of its users. “The goal is that private messages are focused on discussions with your loved ones,” explains Adam Mosseri.
This measure is also an additional step in the reconciliation of Instagram and Messenger messengers implemented by the Meta group for several months to allow Messenger users to directly reach people on Instagram, without needing to open or download the application, and vice versa.
