The doctor Óscar Rosero, endocrinologistindicated that the advice he always gives his patients is to avoid mixing fruits, since it is better to consume one at a time and prevent the intake of several at the same time from affecting people’s health status.
In dialogue with RCN Worldthe lifestyle expert noted that the problem is not the consumption of the fruit as such, “if we are going to analyze the numbers, the consumption of fruit in the Colombian population is really low. Then we can get confused and complicate the consumption of fruit, sometimes it is difficult”.

“So I think it’s easier to say eat one fruit at a time. and don’t worry, despite the fact that health professionals know that fruit consumption is very low,” he said.
Dr. Rosero indicated that “every time we are receiving information regarding nutrition and food studies, these issues were not even addressed and there has always been some controversy, some variety of concepts”.
“The problem of overweight, insulin resistance or diabetes will not be in the fruit, because it has now become a mantra to say that fruit causes diabetes and that fruit is the culprit,” he said.
He added that “I always tell everyone to imagine 50 or 40 years ago when we all ate fruit. We were not even obese because it was 20%, there was not so much hypertension, or cancer.”
