A few days following her world championship title in kickboxing, Stella Hemetsberger received a warm welcome from friends and family back home.

The “Alchimiste Belge” on Bergstrasse was packed when the 24-year-old from Salzburg arrived. Coach Roland Schwarz, many friends, kickboxing colleagues from the RS-Gym in Siezenheim and their parents were there to celebrate the police athlete’s world title in the category up to 60 kg in Albufeira (POR). After her loudly cheered entry, Hemetsberger was particularly warmly welcomed by Christin Fiedler, who had come especially from Pinzgau. The former professional kickboxer discovered the then young talent as a trainer.

“Always hungry” is the motto of the highly motivated Stella Hemetsberger. At the reception, this was taken literally, although plenty of schnitzel rolls and donuts were served for the celebration: “I have to make weight for the Thai Boxing European Championships next week in Antalya,” the athlete explained the waiver.

After the gold medal at the 2022 World Games, the World Cup title was the Salzburg native’s greatest success. In Albufeira she clearly dominated and won all her fights by a clear margin.
