Apart from its GT range, Realme offers other more accessible smartphones. This is the case for example of the Realme 9i, the most affordable of the 9 series, which for an entry-level smartphone has the advantage of offering good technical characteristics at a reduced price. It aims to appeal to small budgets, especially since today, he loses 50 euros of his price.

A well-finished smartphone, with the right compromises
Given its price range, Realme is making a great effort on the design of the 9i and offers licked finishes. It offers a good grip and keeps a compact enough size to slip into your pocket. We had to make some concessions on this model, so we have a 6.6-inch IPS LCD screen displaying a Full HD + definition. To make people forget the absence of AMOLED, the panel comes with a refresh rate of 90 Hz, thus ensuring a fluid experience on a daily basis.
Once turned over, the smartphone has a triple photo sensor: a 50 megapixel wide-angle, a macro lens and a monochrome sensor of 2 megapixels each. Overall, it lacks versatility with the absence of the ultra wide-angle and the presence of a macro sensor is quite anecdotal. As for the shots, the main sensor should offer correct photos, but will have some limits in low light, as is often the case in this segment.
A balanced technical sheet
In terms of performance, the Chinese brand’s phone features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 680 chip, i.e. the same available on Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 11. This configuration is powerful enough to run the majority of applications, as well as some 3D games, with however some latency which will be felt when the graphics conditions are pushed to the maximum. The Realme UI interface also does a good job of getting as close as possible to a stock Android experience, although some fluidity issues may be felt.
Finally, the 9i’s battery is substantial with 5,000 mAh. We therefore have the right to a solid autonomy to last a day, or even two in eco mode without worry. On the other hand, Xiaomi does better in terms of fast charging, amounting to more than 60 W. The Realme 9i is satisfied with a fast charge of 33 W which still allows it to recover energy quickly: 48% battery in 30 minutes of charging. It’s still better than the old model and its 18W load.
