An earthquake was recorded in the early morning in the Vaca Muerta area. It was in the vicinity of Rincón de los Sauces. It is the third in the province in less than a week. From the Induced Seismicity Observatory they linked it to the fractures in oil activity.
“Its epicenter occurred northeast of Añelo, at a distance of approximately 35 kilometers from the town. A set of fractures is operating a few kilometers from the epicenter, in the Aguada del Chañar area (Operated by YPF), however, we remember that induced seismicity can manifest during fracture operations or even following several weeks or months,” they noted in a statement from the Induced Seismicity Observatory.
They noted that they wonder “if the YPF company is executing its anti-seismic protocols at this time, or if they are operating without controls.”
They noted that since November 24 there has been an increase in the magnitude of the earthquakes.
