‘Why Oh Soo-jae’ heated up the small screen on a weekend night.
According to Nielsen Korea, an audience rating research company on the 10th, episode 12 of the SBS Friday-Saturday drama ‘Why Oh Soo-jae’ (played by Kim Ji-eun/directed by Park Soo-jin, Kim Ji-yeon), aired on the 9th, recorded an audience rating of 8.6% in the metropolitan area and 7.7% nationwide.
The highest viewership rating at the moment rose to 11.9%, taking first place in the same time slot as the mini-series broadcast on Saturday. The audience rating of 2049 also recorded 3.0%, ranking first in the same time period.
On this day, Oh Soo-jae (Seo Hyun-jin) and Gong-chan (Hwang In-yeop) each investigated the ‘Jeon Na-jeong case’. Oh Soo-jae began to have doubts regarding Baek Jin-ki (Kim Chang-wan) and Yoon Se-pil (Choi Young-jun), who were entangled in the accident of Kang Eun-seo (Han Seon-hwa), and Gong-chan declared that he would seek evidence for Noh Byeong-chul (Kim Han-jun), whose authentic culprit was uncertain. .
Noh Byung-chul was transferred to solitary confinement following a fight ahead of his first parole in 9 years. And the reality of Noh Byung-chul, revealed along with the news, provided another reversal.
As Gongchan claimed, Noh Byeong-chul was not the real culprit. Just like with Kim Dong-gu (Hwang In-yeop/Lee Yoo-jin), Seo Jun-myung (Kim Young-pil) was a fake criminal. At that time, Noh Byung-chul was under investigation for leaking sexual exploitation videos, and he took the lead to prevent the airing of current affairs programs that dealt with the possibility of Kim Dong-gu’s innocence. This was not the only hidden truth. The reason Gongchan denied Roh’s confessions and statements was because he heard a conversation between two men who were talking regarding Roh’s ‘management price’ before being released from prison. Among them, Gongchan remembered the tattoo on the wrist of the man who said “No Byeong-chul was the culprit”, and vowed to catch him.
Meanwhile, Choi Yoon-sang (Bae In-hyeok) read an article regarding his father Choi Tae-guk (Heo Jun-ho), who was serving as the prosecutor at the time of the murder of the stepsisters in Ungju-si, and digged up information regarding the past through his brother Choi Joo-wan (Ji Seung-hyun). When Oh Soo-jae was horribly defeated and asked how he got into TK law firm, Choi Joo-wan said that Baek Jin-ki had been instructed by his father. Choi Joo-wan caused goosebumps by saying, “The world moves with the hands of our father and Chairman Choi Tae-guk,” saying, “It wasn’t that Oh Soo-jae did not properly trial.”
After that, Choi Yoon-sang continued an unexpected move. He asked Seo Jun-myung for documents from the incident, and summoned him during Oh Soo-jae’s law school lecture. This was to tell Gongchan the real reason Oh Soo-jae lost.
Oh Soo-jae kept his distance from Gong-chan, but he also delved into the incident 10 years ago once more. In a conversation with Chae Jun-hee (Cha Cheong-hwa) and Song Mi-rim (Lee Joo-woo), he pointed out that the person who made Kim Dong-gu the first criminal and the person who made Noh Byeong-chul the new criminal would be the same. Even when the skeleton was found, the person behind it must have recognized that his deeds were exposed to the world. After a while, the news of Noh Byung-chul’s sudden and extreme choice was heard.
Oh Soo-jae and Gong-chan, Baek Jin-ki and Yoon Se-pil, who watch the news, and finally Choi Tae-guk’s dull expressions intersect, raising curiosity. Here, Choi Tae-guk was furious when he learned that Kim Dong-gu was Gong-chan through Ha Il-gu (Jeon Jin-ki), the chief of staff. After Kim Dong-gu was released from prison nine years ago, the evil deeds of Choi Tae-guk and Ha Il-gu, who tried to get rid of him without anyone knowing, were also revealed.
Above all, Oh Soo-jae and Gong-chan both had doubts regarding Baek Jin-gi. Gongchan felt betrayed when he realized that Baek Jin-ki had approached his daughter Kang Eun-seo and pretended not to know regarding his innocence. He said he was waiting for the right time to come someday, and Gongchan turned around firmly, saying, “The opportunity was already missed 10 years ago. I will never be with the director.”
Oh Soo-jae tells Baek Jin-ki that the accident between Kang Eun-seo and Jeon Na-jeong was caused by Choi Tae-guk, Han Seong-beom (Lee Kyung-young), and Lee In-su (Cho Young-jin)’s sons Choi Joo-wan, Han Dong-oh (Park Shin-woo), and Lee Si-hyuk (Won Hyung-hoon). heard. Oh Soo-jae revealed his disappointment at him for ruining his life as well as the life of his innocent client, Kim Dong-gu, in order to prepare for his daughter’s revenge. Yoon Se-pil looked at him like that, and Baek Jin-ki said, “I was guilty” and brought up another story that had been hidden for a while.
At the end of the broadcast, Choi Yoon-sang decided to reveal all the truth to Gongchan himself. It was frustrating that Gongchan, who might only trust Oh Soo-jae, unconditionally, unable to understand her own meaning of saying, “She may not have done her best.” Choi Yoon-sang said, “You cheated on my sister, and she abandoned you,” and that Oh Soo-jae was convincing Baek Jin-ki to protect her family and lost the trial, but Gong-chan did not resent Oh.
Oh Soo-jae, who was listening to the conversation between the two over the phone from Choi Yoon-sang, shed tears. Ten years ago, the complex emotions that were intertwined with the guilt of not being able to protect Kim Dong-gu due to his wrong choice and the regret that he had no choice but to turn away from Gong-chan even now due to that, aroused affection.
