Why Michael Jackson fans are suddenly mad regarding Harry Styles
For decades this title was untouchable, following all there might only be one King of Pop. But now the British “Rolling Stone” pushed Michael Jackson – who once gave himself the musical blue blood – from his music throne and elevated Harry Styles to the king of pop music. This was not well received, especially in the Jackson fan camp, and a real shitstorm erupted on Twitter. Michael’s nephew Taj Jackson even spoke of “title abuse”.

What happened? Harry Styles made it onto the cover of the new British edition of Rolling Stone. The former One Direction singer can be seen in a white fur coat, holding a birthday cake with burning candles in his hand. The music magazine headlined: “Harry Styles: How the New King of Pop Set the Music World on Fire”.
Harry Styles vs. Michael Jackson: Who’s the King?
The result: several thousand fans complained on Twitter. In her opinion, the award should only be worn by Michael Jackson. A Twitter user, for example, collected a particularly large number of likes with the following statement: “This track belongs to the black man who has been busting his ass since the age of five, who was a veteran at the age of 15, who broke racial barriers and revolutionized the music industry .” According to her, Michael Jackson is “THE King of Pop of EVERY generation”.

In addition, “Rolling Stone” was accused of preferring a “mediocre” white artist to the supposedly true black King of Pop. Users pointed out how much harder it was for black artists compared to white ones.
