Why is the airplane’s AC turned off during take-off? – Life & Style

“Have you ever thought about flying in an airplane without air conditioner (AC)? This is unimaginable! But do you know why planes turn off the AC during take-off?

People use things in their daily life, there are many reasons that we don’t get time to know about.

As people travel by plane but often they are not aware of the activities that take place in the plane, what could be the reason for doing so.

One of the questions is that why is the AC of the aircraft turned off during take-off?

Climate control systems (such as air supply, thermal control and cabin compartments) are shut down to ensure a safe take-off, after which full power goes to the engines and ease of take-off.

According to former American pilot John Cox, when an airplane is on the ground, it is supplied with air conditioning from an external source. Just before departure, this external connection is disconnected. A backup power unit (APU) then kicks in to provide power and cooling air until the engine starts running.
