why is it important to apply a scrub?

A healthy skincare routine includes several steps, including a facial scrub. In addition to removing impurities in depth, a facial scrub can also give you glowing skin.

Even better, it is very easy to add the scrub to your usual care without spending the slightest time or effort. Use a facial scrub to prevent blemishes, clear clogged pores while improving the texture and feel of your skin.

Explore the benefits of exfoliation!

Think of the pleasant feeling the skin gets following an exfoliation. This is because exfoliation removes accumulated impurities from dirt, excess oil, and bacteria that clog pores and make your skin look dull. The stimulation of exfoliation also promotes blood circulation in your face. Which gives you a more radiant appearance.

Also, clogged pores can lead to different stages of acne which create a rougher texture. The sensation of small bumps from whiteheads or more painful areas like cysts gives an uneven surface. In this kind of situation, chemical exfoliation is particularly effective, since alpha hydroxy acids are used to dissolve impurities and obtain a deep cleaning.

Difference between mechanical exfoliation and chemical exfoliation:

We can distinguish two kinds of scrubbing: mechanical scrubbing and chemical scrubbing. The first refers to the mechanism or the way in which the exfoliation is carried out. The simplest is to use a wet glove at home.

The chemical scrub involves products intended for the face containing active chemical substances. A chemical exfoliant may include lactic acid to chemically exfoliate your face and salicylic acid to correct the appearance of pores. Silica is another key ingredient. It is an exfoliant that helps remove the top layer of skin through its own natural “mechanism”. Both methods are beneficial, but chemical exfoliants are recommended for people with oily or acne-prone skin. Chemical exfoliation helps fight acne by working deep into the pores without being as abrasive to the skin.

Exfoliate respecting the nature of your skin.

The frequency of exfoliation needed depends on your skin type. Some need more than others to keep it in good condition. Oily skin, for example, needs exfoliation every other day to prevent dirt from settling in the pores. Dry skin usually needs exfoliation once or twice a week. As for combination skin, it needs an exfoliation regimen that falls somewhere in between.

While this is a general regimen to follow, how often you exfoliate your face also depends on the current condition of your skin and the environmental factors that affect it. The condition of the skin changes for many reasons: temperature, air quality, hormones and age, to name a few. There may be days or weeks when your skin feels oilier than usual, which may temporarily require more exfoliation. Also, warmer climates or dry air conditions can alter the appearance of your skin as well.
