Hungary refuses to host the 2024 European Figure Skating and Ice Dance Championships reported press service of the Hungarian National Skating Association (Magyar Orszgos Korcsolyz Szvetsg; MOKSZ). The main reason is the lack of sufficient resources for the “quality organization” of competitions.
“Due to the protracted conflict in the neighborhood with our country, its impact on the economy and energy prices … MOKSZ, following much deliberation, refuses to host the European Figure Skating and Ice Dancing Championships in 2024,” the press service of the association said.
The 2023 Figure Skating and Ice Dancing European Championships took place in Espoo, Finland. Euro 2024 was to be held in Budapest. In 2025, the tournament should host Zagreb.
