Almost two euros for a liter of milk – a:e user:in of the STANDARD forum observed this price in a Tyrolean supermarket. Only a few kilometers further, namely in Italy, there is therefore the same milk carton for around one euro – i.e. half as much. It is one example among many, but an EU study also confirms that groceries are particularly expensive in Austria.
