Researchers have found that the natural aging process causes changes in the times the body approaches sleep.
According to HuffPost, our falling asleep and waking times depend on both our genetics and our age.
“Like most things that change with age, there isn’t just one reason, and they’re all interconnected,” University of Michigan psychology professor Cindy Lustig said in an interview. To Indy100.
This all has to do with the brain becoming less responsive to signs of fatigue as people age. Factors such as sunlight, social cues, and physical activity let the body know where we are at during the day.
Among the youngest, the links are made naturally: they associate, for example, supper with the idea of sleeping in the next few hours. Older people have more difficulty using the same indicators.
