Will Smith might not avoid tears when thanking his award in the category of Best Actor, for his leading role in ‘King Richard’.
Will Smith, the critics’ favorite to win one of the most coveted awards at the Oscars, Best Actor, went from anger to tears in a matter of minutes. It all happened when comedian Chris Rock presented the Best Documentary category. The comedian made a comment regarding Jada Pinkett, the wife of Will Smith, and alluded to her lookalluding to the fact that he might participate in To the limit, a film in which Demi Moore, its protagonist, shaves her hair. Suddenly there was an awkward silence, and seconds later Will Smith appeared, hurrying onto the stage. There he punched Chris Rock. Next, the enraged actor from King Richard he went back to his chair and from there he yelled at his colleague “Keep my wife’s name out of your fucking mouth”. and there was an awkward exchange of words between them that was not aired. Smith might not stand the comment because her wife has her head shaved by her own decision, as she suffers from an autoimmune disease that causes alopecia.

According to sources of Hollywood Reporter, his agent and several friends, including actor Denzel Washington, calmed the furious actor. Minutes later, at the presentation of the next category, Sean ´Diddy´ Combs called for calm. “Will and Chris, we are going to solve this as a family. Right now, we move forward with love.”.
When Will Smith received the award for Best Actor for his role in King Richard she mightn’t help the tears. “Richard Williams was a very brave man, a defender of his family. At this point in my life, I am overwhelmed by what God is asking me to do and be. They are asking me to love and protect people and to be a river for my people.”. Later, and following thanking the Williams family and remembering his parents, she ended by saying, “I looked like the crazy father, but love makes you do crazy things”.
