Why did Mohammad Hafeez resign from PCB’s technical committee? The reason came out

Ahead of the announcement of the Cricket World Cup 2023 squad, former national team captain Muhammad Hafeez announced his resignation from the technical committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Mohammad Hafeez, who serves as an honorary member of the Pakistan Cricket Committee, took to social platform X to express his gratitude to the chairman of the board’s management committee, Zaka Ashraf, and expressed his best wishes for the Pakistan cricket team.

Muhammad Hafeez was a part of the committee for less than two months, he was also part of the management meeting chaired by Zaka Ashraf yesterday where the performance of the Pakistan cricket team in the Asia Cup 2023 was reviewed.

Later yesterday, Muhammad Hafeez announced on social platform X that ‘I have decided to leave the technical committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board, I was working as an honorary member.’

He wrote that I am thankful to Chairman PCB Management Committee Zaka Ashraf who gave me the opportunity.

He further said that my best wishes will always be with Pakistan cricket.

It may be recalled that PCB had appointed former Test cricketer Misbah-ul-Haq as the head of the high-profile cricket technical committee last month.

Former Test cricketers Inzamam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Hafeez were included in the committee, but later Inzamam-ul-Haq was appointed as the chief selector of the Pakistan cricket team.

The committee was formed to provide recommendations on matters related to cricket, including overall domestic structure, scheduling, playing conditions, appointment of national selection committees, appointment of national team coaches, central and domestic contracts and others.
