Yesterday, the listing of the HMSTR token took place, trading on which began on the largest crypto exchanges, in particular, Bybit and Binance. How much have the players earned so far, and are there any prospects for growth of this token, says the Ministry of Finance.
After listing, Hamster Kombat players were able to exchange their earned virtual currency for real assets. In the game, a huge number of people “tapped the hamster”, received coins for this and pumped up in order to increase their income per tap.
Many were captivated by the game because players expected that virtual coins could later be exchanged for real money. Another similar game, Notcoin, has already listed, and active players were able to earn several tens and even hundreds of dollars.
At the same time, the creators of Hamster Kombat repeatedly postponed the listing of their coin and did not explain why. It also remained a mystery how the tokens would be distributed and at what price they could be sold.
To understand what will happen next with the price of these tokens, you need to understand two aspects. First, how the project developers will allocate assets. Secondly, why will HMSTR be needed in the future?
So how much did the players get?
According to the plan of the game’s authors, a total of 100 billion HMSTR tokens will be created. Most will go to players, but some will be used for other purposes:
- 60% (60 billion tokens) of HMSTR will go to players in the current first season.
- 15% (15 billion tokens) will be distributed among players in the second season, although when it will begin is still unknown.
- 8% – HMSTR will be kept by the developers.
- 6% will be sent to partners who will create various in-game activities.
- 4% will be transferred to market makers of crypto exchanges to maintain exchange rate stability.
- 4% — do on advertising.
- 3% will be reserved for the mechanism for extracting new tokens.
How players received tokens
The more the player pumped up his hamster, the more tokens he received. Income depended on various factors:
- passive income – how much profit does the virtual hamster generate;
- completing daily tasks;
- participation in the referral program – how many friends the player brought;
- points – player achievements;
- the number of keys that were collected in the mini-game.
According to preliminary estimates, on average players received approximately 2,000-3,000 HMSTR. At the premarket, the price of tokens was about $0.01, and immediately after the start of trading it fell by almost 20%. At the time of writing, the fall continued and the token price was 0.0068. Based on this, on average, players earned $14—20.
Who was deprived of income
The authors of Hamster Kombat reported some game statistics. More than 300 million people entered it at least once, but about 130 million of them were allowed to drop. The rest collected too few coins and passive income. Another 30 million players forgot to indicate how to withdraw tokens before the deadline, but this can be done later.
The developers blocked 2.3 million cheaters, confiscating 6.8 billion tokens from them. For example, those who demonstrated “inhuman activity” received a ban: for example, they spent too much time in the game and tapped too actively. They also blocked those who brought fake friends through the referral program.
Will the token price increase?
The developers presented the project roadmap. In it, they promised to turn Hamster Kombat into a platform where other game developers could release their projects. Something like Roblox.
Users will be able to use HMSTR tokens to pay for in-game purchases and NFT items.
The developers also announced plans to buy back tokens when the project makes a profit. The purchased tokens will be destroyed, their quantity will decrease – accordingly, the price should increase.
At the same time, observers warn that there may not be growth. Players quickly lose interest in the monotonous gameplay, and try to sell the coins they earn.
In addition, if you look at the charts of similar projects, you will notice that after a short hype they will face a long decline.
Notcoin is the first notable project in the genre. The clicker was released on January 1 of this year and attracted an audience of more than 30 million people. However, the price of its token is steadily falling.
What’s next
The Hamster Kombat project actually made it to listing. Many players have received tokens and can sell them. However, in order to sell tokens, someone must buy them, but there are few reasons for this.
Memcoins, which include HMSTR, live as long as they are in the center of the information space. But interest in the game will most likely decline.

The main winners in this whole story are the creators of Hamster Kombat. Even before listing the token, they earned millions of dollars from advertising within the game. And after the listing, their accounts ended up with tokens worth more than $80 million. Although their sale will lead to the fall of the coin.
