One week before the start of the first part of the final season of the popular series “The Crown”, which is inspired by the life of the British royal family, Kate Hall, the hair and makeup designer responsible for the appearance of the actors in the series, revealed how long it took Australian star Elizabeth Debicki to become “Princess Diana”.

Kate Hall said in a press interview: “In terms of preparations, I would say that Elizabeth probably spent more than 30 hours in the hair and makeup chair to become (Princess Diana).”

Hall added that the most challenging looks for her were those that talked regarding private and unknown moments that the “Princess of Wales” lived with her family, including her two sons, Princes William and Harry, as these moments were not published to the public, so it was difficult to predict what she would wear. Or the way she did her makeup during it.

“We were trying to find a look for (Diana) that would be believable within the scene, which made it difficult for the team,” Kate explained, noting that they were spending at least four hours of fittings, and understanding what shape they would adopt, before they started. Elizabeth’s makeup transforms her into “Princess Diana” in every scene.

Hall confirmed that there was great pressure to make Elizabeth’s appearance authentic in the series, which tells the story of the tragic death of Princess Diana in 1997, during the final sixth season.

Last year, Elizabeth spoke regarding her portrayal of the late princess, including a scene that included reviving one of her biggest fashion moments. The Australian star said: Everyone felt a responsibility towards the “revenge dress.” Because it’s a scene everyone wanted to see in Season 5 of the series, as it was an incredibly important moment in fashion history.

The actress continued at the time by saying: “This dress symbolizes many things; “Because it is very brave and beautiful, and it has a special meaning in Diana’s life, so when she wore it, it meant a lot.”

Elizabeth indicated, at the time, that the fashion department took “several hours” of work; To replicate the original dress designed by Christina Stambolian, and worn by Princess Diana in 1994, when her husband, Prince Charles, admitted to having an affair with his current wife, Camilla.

Elizabeth described the dress as strong and unique, with its structure, shape and appearance, noting that she would not forget that day on the filming site, as they filmed the scene in the same place where it actually happened.

In the context of working on the final sixth season of the series, which will be shown in two stages: the first on November 16, Debicki described the task of reenacting some scenes of the princess’s life, especially those moments she lived before her passing, including the scene of journalists chasing her, as “heavy.” And “unpleasant”, and it is unbearable.
