The International Cricket Council (ICC) has posted an interesting video on its Facebook page about the players sitting at home due to the corona virus.
ICC has selected eleven players from different teams to form the ‘Home XI’ team. The International Cricket Council has chosen players whose names correspond to household items, such as New Zealander Martin Guptill being named Martin Capital.
In the video, the image of the cup has been replaced by the batsman Martin. Jos Buttler, the New Zealand player selected for the Home XI, has been named Philos Butler.
New Zealand women’s player Suzy Bates has been compared to Suzy Platts and Indian women’s player Harmanpreet Kaur has been compared to an apple.
South African wicketkeeper Quiton de Kock in the home XI has been renamed as Quiton de Soux and replaced with a picture of a sock.
Among the all-rounders, Sri Lankan player Thisaraperera has been depicted as a chair as Thisara Parchiara. Indian player Washington Sundara has been named Washing Your Hands Sundara.
South African women’s player Merizen Kip has been named as Merizen Tep in the ICC Home XI. National cricket team player Shaheen Afridi has been renamed as Shaheen Afriji and has been replaced by a picture of a fridge.
New Zealand player Lucky Ferguson has been named Lockie Ferguson after comparing him to a key. West Indies player Sheldon Cottrell’s last name has been changed to Cattrell.
For field umpires, the ICC has named England’s Richard Keathling as Catling and Paul Raffle from Australia as Paul Triffle.
