A man in his 80s living in Bihar, eastern India, purposely sought a vaccine for the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and was vaccinated at least eight times, attracting attention. The man claims to have been vaccinated “to get healthy” and experienced no side effects from the vaccine.
According to Indian media, Indian Express, an 84-year-old man, Bramdeo Mandal, claims that he received a total of 11 doses of the free COVID-19 vaccine in India. Authorities later confirmed that this person had been vaccinated at least eight times. Mandal took advantage of the fact that India’s free vaccination centers do not require an appointment and can only be administered face-to-face with an ID.
Vaccination facts are uploaded to a data portal centrally managed by the Indian government. For some reason, the upload of the vaccination record for the month of the month was delayed, and it is understood that he continued to receive the vaccine while traveling to various centers. Some of these centers were up to 100 km away.
In India, it is standard to get two doses of the vaccine, and like other countries, there are many people who are hesitant to get the vaccine because of side effects. Nevertheless, Mandal said that the reason he had to go to the vaccine was ‘because it was effective for arthritis’.
In an interview with the media, Mandal claimed, “I used to use a cane because I had bad knees, but following being hit, that kind of thing went away.” “Now, I actually just walk.” Conversely, he claimed that the side effects such as fatigue, fever, and headache, which are frequently mentioned among those vaccinated with the existing vaccine, did not occur, and that his body was in normal condition.
