Why a cameraman became a “friend for life” for Jürgen Klopp

Liverpool FC deservedly beat Newcastle United 4-2 on Monday evening and jumped to the top of the table. Jürgen Klopp was also hugely relieved. A camera from the TV channel Sky Sports followed the coach as he celebrated with the fans. But suddenly the 56-year-old lost his wedding ring.

Klopp immediately went looking. Not an easy task on the muddy pitch at Anfield. But just a few seconds later, a cameraman who spotted the ring saved him. To the great delight of Klopp, who immediately kissed the piece of jewelry. “Oh my God, that would have been really terrible,” Klopp told Sky. “I lost it once in my life – I needed a professional diver because it was in the sea. Every now and then, when I lose a kilo or two, it no longer fits.” By the way, the cameraman is now a “friend for life”…
