Whose high flight and who disappointed?

Multan Sultans Pakistan Super League 1st to reach the playoffs The team And Lahore Qalandars have become the first team to be out of the playoffs and by the time you are reading this, it will be pretty clear who will be the other team not to make it to the playoffs. May be?

Listen to the author’s words here:

Lahore Qalandars For this PSL was unexpectedly very disappointing. Unexpected as they were not only the defending champions but had been winning the title for two years, but this season they looked like a completely different team from the previous two seasons.

Fakhar Zaman’s out of form, David Visa’s unfitness, Shaheen Afridi’s mixed performance, Haris Rauf and Zaman Khan’s ineffectiveness, Sikandar Raza and others are among the main factors behind the disappointing performance of Lahore Qalandars this season. Not using the rounder in the right place, Abdullah Shafiq, who performed well last season, moving down the batting order and most importantly, the absence of Rashid Khan. After all these things you can wonder what is left with Lahore Qalandars.

The team which has Sikandar Raza who got the best cricketer award with 313 runs and 13 wickets in the ILT Twenty League will have a psychological advantage over the rival teams but did not use him properly in the PSL. Gaya, which can be gauged from the fact that in the first five matches he only got to bowl nine overs and when it came to batting, other batsmen were sent above him which is incomprehensible.

When I spoke to Lahore Qalandars Chief Operating Officer Samin Rana, he was not ready to accept that Sikandar Raza was not used properly. He said that it is not that Sikandar Raza was not given opportunities but he might not give that performance, which Sikandar Raza also realized.

Samin Rana gave the same reasons for the disappointing performance of Lahore Qalandars as I have written above. However, he said that ‘we had to play six matches in ten days. This time fate did not cooperate. Except for one match which was one-sided, we fought in the other five matches.

Shaheen Shah Afridi’s captaincy is also being talked regarding a lot. Some people feel bad that the criticism of Shaheen Afridi’s captaincy is not fair as it might affect his captaincy of the Pakistan team. These people believe that the comparison between the captaincy of Lahore Qalandars and the captaincy of Pakistan team is not correct.

In this context, I will say that why do these people forget that following winning two titles of the same PSL, there was a noise that Shaheen Afridi should be the captain of Pakistan’s T20 team and Lahore Qalandars in it. Head coach Aqib Javed was in the lead. So if Shaheen’s captaincy in this PSL has been questioned and criticized, then there should be no harm in it.

The only positive aspect of Lahore Qalandars’ performance was the batting of van der Dusen and Sahibzada Farhan.

If we talk regarding Multan Sultans, then in its batting line, Mohammad Rizwan, Reza Hendricks, Usman Khan and David Mullan are performing prominently.

Usman Khan scored the fastest century in the previous PSL. This time also the same glimpse has been shown by him. After disillusioned with his future in Pakistan, he is now playing cricket in the UAE, but is heating up the Pakistan Super League with his aggressive batting.

Pakistan Super League has always been known for the excellent performance of its fast bowlers. This time Multan Sultans fast bowler Muhammad Ali has impressed everyone with his bowling. Naseem Shah is back following injury and is bowling well but this time the magic of the leg spinners is also on the rise.

Osama Mir of Multan Sultans, Quetta Gladiators K Abrar Ahmed, Shadab Khan of Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi K Arif Yaqoob has been prominent. Shadab Khan has made his presence felt in batting and captaincy as well.

Among the young players, fast bowler Haneen Shah has identified himself apart from being the brother of Naseem Shah. He looks ready for international cricket.

Saim Ayub’s talent has also shined, his aggressive batting and opening partnership with Babar Azam has been amazing. But they have to show more patience.

After an innings by Quetta Gladiators’ Khawaja Nafee, there was the usual clamor that this talent should be taken to the Pakistan team immediately, which I don’t think is appropriate at all. Now let him perform in more domestic cricket then see how much he has for international cricket.

Now let’s mention some players who will be remembered for their disappointing performance in this PSL.

Muhammad Nawaz is the top among these players. This disappointment is not only in this PSL but we have also seen this series in T20 World Cup, Asia Cup, Fifty Overs World Cup and New Zealand tour. He had only two wickets to his name in the first eight matches of this PSL.

Now is the time for Chief Selector Wahab Riaz and his fellow selectors to look at another left-arm spin option to replace Mohammad Nawaz. Now is the time to trust young players like Mehran Mumtaz and Arafat Minhas and give them opportunities and prepare them for the future.

For Imad Wasim, many have been of the opinion that he should end his retirement and return to international cricket, but in the first seven matches of the PSL, he managed to take only three wickets.

Shaan Masood had a very disappointing first season with Karachi Kings. Similarly, Shoaib Malik too might not score anything but a half-century. Only Pollard seemed to support Karachi Kings’ batting.

After being removed from the captaincy of Quetta Gladiators, Sarfaraz Ahmed was not able to show remarkable performance in batting, but on the other hand, if we look at the performance of Babar Azam, following leaving the captaincy of the Pakistani team, he is completely focused on his batting. are coming, the glimpse of which has been clearly seen in this PSL. There is a streak of making runs that does not stop. The fans are getting to see the best batting and most importantly they have silenced their critics regarding the strike rate as well.
