Misbah-ul-Haq, head coach of the national cricket team, while commenting on Pakistan’s defeat by England, said that a partnership took them out of the match.

The head coach of the match said that the match was in our hands to a large extent but Buttler and Woakes played very well due to which England played a good game even with five players out.

The national team lost in the first match of the three-Test series against England, in which Jos Buttler’s batting played an important role.

When the English top order was helpless in front of the Pakistani bowling attack, England’s Jos Buttler proved to be the crisis man of the team. He played an important role in the victory of his team by scoring seventy five runs.

Chris Woakes also performed brilliantly on behalf of the visiting team England and was named Man of the Match. He played an unbeaten innings of eighty-four runs not out.

In the match played at Old Trafford, the England team achieved the target of 277 runs for the loss of seven wickets thanks to the brilliant batting of Butler and Woakes.

During the first innings, Pakistan showed excellent performance in batting and bowling due to which the England team was all out for 219 runs in response to 326 runs.

The national team started their second innings with a lead of 107 runs but could not show much outstanding performance in the batting department.

England needed 277 runs to win in the second innings. When the host team started the second innings, they found it difficult to face the Pakistani bowlers.

In the second innings, Pakistan’s bowlers once again showed a brilliant performance and despite the low target, they guided seven England players to the pavilion.

After dismissing five players, the match was pretty much in the hands of the national team and the English top order looked helpless against the Pakistani bowling attack. Buttler and Woakes’ brilliant innings on England’s side turned the tide of the match and gave victory to the rival team.
