The Yara method for the Sharon Verzeni case. The residents of the street in Terno d’Isola (Bergamo) where, on the night between Monday 29 July and Tuesday 30, the young woman was killed while walking at night, were subjected to DNA testing, as in the case of the investigations for the murder of Yara Gambirasio which then led to the conviction of Massimo Bossetti. According to Eco di Bergamo, in fact, the biological samples taken from the residents of the street will be compared with the traces found on the body and clothes of the woman, stabbed to death while out for a walk.

For the moment, the Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the murder without anyone registered as a suspect. The victim’s boyfriend, Sergio Ruocco, 37, was questioned again by investigators as a person informed of the facts. His alibi is considered reliable. Investigators do not seem to rule out leads linked to people Sharon knew. At the same time that the boyfriend was being questioned, her father, Mario Ruocco, was also being questioned: “They called me at two in the afternoon, which would have been a five-minute matter. Instead, we were at the barracks in Bergamo from three to nine in the evening. They asked me about my life, my marriage, my time as a married woman, my divorce, my three children, Sergio, Sharon, the friends they had,” the man said, as reported by Il Giorno.
