We often come across complaints of a missing person or a stolen item, but for the first time, Michigan police have reached a location to search for a missing cabin. Yes, you read that right, an entire cabin disappeared into the dark of night. The brown cabin with a white door was in Coldsprings Township until it disappeared between November 18 and December 16. Last time the shack was spotted in this township. In a conversation with USA Today, calling it a “strange situation,” Cavalier Investigator Matthew Scott said that at this point the cabin is not where it’s supposed to be, there are various reasons, but we let’s try to find out the details. Authorities say the 12ft by 28ft structure was pulled on a trailer as the size of the cabin is almost the same as a mid-size yacht and yet the thieves managed to steal it.
Scott revealed that the owner of the cabin, who had lived there for a few years, had left to move elsewhere. Upon his return, he found that the cabin was missing but the owner doesn’t know what happened to it or why anyone would want to steal it.
The police have suspects in mind, and they would probably find them. However, the investigator admitted that it would indeed be difficult to track down a missing cabin, as two to three months have passed since it was stolen. In closing, he mentioned that we don’t see such incidents happening too often, but he added, “when it comes to crime, anything is possible.”
In 2015, a similar incident occurred in the US state of Oregon. An entire log cabin has gone missing in rural Oregon following the owner showed up following a year to find his lot empty.
