What is the reason for your enthusiasm for presenting the movie “The Public Call”? Is it because it is your first absolute starring?
The main reason for my enthusiasm to participate and perpetuate this work is the idea of the film, as it is new to me. When the idea of the film was presented to me by the authors Ahmed Abdel Wahab and Karim Sami, I liked it very much and agreed to play the role, especially since it is the second time that we work together following the movie “The Floating Plan” The story of the movie is completely different, and all the staff worked hard in this movie so that the viewer might see it in the most beautiful way.
As for what attracted me to present the absolute heroism through this film, its idea, which is being addressed for the first time in Egyptian cinema. The comedy in this work is also completely different, and the character differs from the characters that I previously presented.
How did you get nominated for the movie “The Public Call”?
The truth is, I have been one of the founders of the film for two years, and I have the script and I put all my focus in it. This was a great effort on all the work team, and our Lord honored us because we made a great effort in it, and God willing, it will win the admiration of the audience who has not seen it yet, and through it I embody the role of “Moataz.” “A young man gets very angry with his mother, so she prayed for him, got angry with him, and his life changes because of his mother’s prayer for him, as he and those with him fall into many comic situations, because of his mother’s call on him.
How would you rate this experience?
The movie The Call in general is the most effortless movie in which I made the most effort, and during filming I went through real crises that I overcame thanks to God and the audience’s support. At times, the comedy and laughter in the movie were the best thing in my day, and I hope that work will be the best thing on the audience’s day as well, and I help draw a smile on me. their faces.
What regarding behind the scenes working with Ahmed El-Fishawy, especially since his role was not great?
Al-Fishawy is my lover and my brother, and I am the one who nominated him for the film, he is “Ten Omari”, and I insisted on his presence at work, because years ago he did not present comedy, and he is a talented actor and has a great presence.
Do you see that the roles you provide affect the audience?
I hope that my roles will affect the audience in a large proportion, and that the impact will be positive, and this is one of the most important wishes of my life, and I hope that all my work will reach the audience in a positive way, especially since comedy in Egypt is one of the most difficult topics that the artist deals with, especially since the Egyptian people have a sense of humor. A comic therefore finds it very difficult to put a smile on the faces that are already always smiling and understanding in comedy.
But are you thinking of doing something different from comedy?
The truth is, I am not currently thinking of presenting dramas and romances, as I focus more on the comedy that the audience introduced me to, and I cannot let my audience down at that stage, especially since I touched their love because of the ill health I went through.
Are there reasons for you to stay away from the stage?
Finally, in the last period I presented more than one theatrical work, but it was shown outside Egypt during the Riyadh season, but I try as much as possible to be keen on presenting theatrical performances. Daily or weekly, the leader, Adel Imam, is the greatest example of this, as he did not stop on the stage in his glory.
Many see that the theater is broken?
It does not disrupt, but it needs effort, and the idea here is that the time of the show requires the actor to leave everything aside and jog to the theater, and it is very possible following the show that it is related to other things, for example, in the Egyptian theater, I was making two films and a series, the topic needs scheduling and an agreement with the work makers.
Is the preoccupation of the members of the Egyptian theater troupe reason for the end of the performances?
Absolutely.. we all consider the theater number one, and the subject and what is in it is that we were contracting with a company and the contract period has expired, “As for the details with Professor Ashraf Abdel-Baqi, because he is a part of the production, and it is possible for someone to talk to him in a show he doesn’t like, so sure all the details are with him, but we stopped The theater, because the contract is concluded.” And in general, I am ready any time they say we will show once more.
How do you accept rumors during your illness?
I was trying to ignore it and not give it any attention, and sometimes I smiled when I heard the news, whoever spreads such rumors is a “fame sick” person, may God heal them because they put so much effort and no benefit to them in the end.
Were the rumors harmful to you?
Certainly, sometimes rumors affect the artist negatively, and put him under pressure.
Currently I have cinematic works, I am keen to present them well, and I am trying to focus more on cinema, but this is not a fixed rule, there are shows that impose themselves, and if I am lucky with them, I will present them.
