Who will run India? Constitution or ‘King’s Rod’? – World

The controversy regarding ‘Sengol’ is intensifying in the Indian Parliament today. Congress, Samajwadi Party and other opposition parties are adamant on the demand to declare ‘Sengol’ as unconstitutional. In this regard, Samajwadi Party member RK Choudhary has said that India is a temple of democracy, the rule of Raja cannot work here.

RK Chowdhury said that Sengol is a Tamil word which means king’s rod. It is a symbolic stick with a small statue of a cow mounted on its head. While taking the oath of membership in the Lok Sabha, the opposition and especially the members of the Samajwadi Party refused to bow down to this baton and called for it to be declared unconstitutional.

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party insists that Sengol is a symbol of authenticity. He also accused the Samajwadi Party and other opposition parties of insulting India’s history and culture.

RK Chowdhury says that we have to decide whether the constitution will rule in the country or the scepter of the king. The Constitution is the symbol of Indian democracy, so now we should save the supremacy of the Constitution by removing the Cengol installed near the Speaker’s chair.
