Frank Deboosere will say goodbye to the VRT following 36 years of presenting the weather on radio and TV, the Flemish channel announced this week. “The man of “ochtendgrijs” (“Grey morning”) and “morgen zijn we er weer met meer weer” (“We’ll be back tomorrow with more weather”). The man fascinated by the stars. And who shares all this knowledge with us with as much enthusiasm as on March 12, 1987, the day of his first weather report on the BRT at the time”, writes the VRT with emotion.
On March 20, presenter Frank Deboosere will retire following 36 years of good and loyal service.
It will therefore take a person of size to take the place of the famous presenter. This is what Jacotte Broken will do, who popularizes science through social networks and through podcasts, to make it more accessible. She studied chemistry and digital content creation and currently teaches climate journalism at the Arteveldehogeschool in Ghent.
It will therefore begin in April by presenting the weather forecast twice a week on all VRT platforms. If you want to see her, don’t miss her first TV weather report on April 3 on Eén at 8:10 p.m.
