Entry into Estonia for Russian citizens will be prohibited from 19 September. How this will work was explained on the website of the government of the republic on Friday, September 9.
As follows from the message, from September 19, Russians will no longer be allowed into Estonia with a short-term Schengen visa, for the purpose of tourism, sports, culture, visiting friends, regardless of the country of arrival or the country of issuance of the visa. The same restriction will also come into force in Latvia, Lithuania and Poland.
The restriction does not apply to all citizens of Russia. Crossing the state border will still be allowed for those who want to visit family, diplomats, employed or students in Estonia, as well as those who are employed in the transport of goods and passengers. Entry for humanitarian reasons and for dissidents will also be allowed.
