And, would you have also guessed the South African country of Lesotho? If so, you might have asked yourself the 1 million euro question like the dentist from Würzburg.

And here is the all-important question. Admittedly, this is probably a little more difficult to answer for people of non-German origin. Are you correct in your assumption?

In 1957, our neighbors from the large canton were able to vote by post for the first time. At that time, the CDU politician Konrad Adenauer was elected German Chancellor. If you were wrong: Don’t worry, Günther Jauch’s candidate didn’t know the right answer either.

After a long time, a candidate in “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” once once more made it to the 1 million euro question.

The dentist from Würzburg didn’t show any trouble until the 500,000 euro question.

Even moderator Günther Jauch admitted that he didn’t know the answer to the ultimate question.

It happened pretty quickly for the 32-year-old candidate from Würzburg: David Thelen answered the first on October 23, 2023 13 questions in “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” in no time. It wasn’t until the 500,000 euro question that the dentist faltered and had to first use the audience joker and then the telephone joker. The latter guessed the answer that only four percent of those watching in the studio had logged in. Nevertheless, Thelen trusted his telephone joker – and was right.

So following more than a year and a half, Günther Jauch was once once more able to ask the million dollar question. And his candidate, who had previously answered the 500,000 euro question so quickly, caused the next surprise: the 32-year-old gambler was unsure and backed out. If Thelen had guessed wrong, he would have been one half a million fell back to a mere 500 euros.

However, the 32-year-old’s decision was correct: the Würzburger would have been wrong with his final answer. He still has reason to be happy: David Thelen wants to use the 500,000 euros to visit the four tennis Grand Slam finals in Melbourne, Paris, London and New York.
