Millions of Austrians will automatically receive more money next year. An overview.
Even before wage negotiations start, it is clear that millions of Austrians will get more money in 2025. This affects, among other things, social and family benefits, which are automatically adjusted to inflation.
As a result, family allowances will increase by 4.6 percent (annual inflation) from 2025. Specifically, depending on the age of the child, instead of the previous 132.30 euros to 191.60 euros, you will now receive 138.40 euros to 200.40 euros per month. The childcare allowance, the additional child allowance and the minimum income will also be increased automatically.
Cold progression
The pension increase of 4.6 percent is already fixed – this has already been decided by Parliament. However, the increase only applies up to the ASVG maximum pension; those with a higher pension receive a fixed amount of just under 279 euros.
But all employees can also look forward to more money. By abolishing cold progression, the wage and income tax limits will be increased in 2025. This also means that the tax exemption limit will be increased from 12,816 to 13,308 euros per year.
