The entire family of Ismail Haniyeh, head of the Palestinian resistance organization Hamas, who was martyred in an attack in Tehran, the capital of Iran, has sacrificed for the cause of Palestine. In an attack on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, 10 members of Ismail Hania’s family, including three sons and a grandson, were martyred. In the attack on Ismail Haniya’s house in Gaza, one of his sisters was also martyred.
In an interview with Al-Jazeera, Ismail Haniyeh said that his sons Hazem, Amir and Muhammad and his grandsons were martyred in the attack by the Israeli army. An Israeli newspaper claimed the martyrdom of 14 members of Ismail Haniya’s family.
Ismail Haniyeh was one of the most determined leaders of Hamas. He fought against the Israeli occupation of Palestine throughout his life and did not waver at any stage. Both the Israeli leadership and the military were aware of Ismail Haniyeh’s activities and his movements were regularly monitored.
