It seems that Paco Alcacer’s permanent transfer to Sharjah (The King) will make way for Edinson Cavani in the Spanish club Villarreal.
Alcacer had been left out of the technical accounts of Unai Emery, the coach of the team, due to his repeated injuries.
Villarreal initially resorted to loaning the 28-year-old to the king, with the Emirati club granted the right to buy, especially since Alcacer is linked to a contract that extends until 2025.
And the Spanish media indicated that Villarreal is reducing in this way the high annual salary of Alcacer, which some sources have estimated at 5 million euros annually, as he wants to hire a replacement.
But with the departure of the former Spanish international permanently to Sharjah, Villarreal will be free to sign a contract that extends for more than a year with the new striker, without thinking regarding the future cost of Alcacer’s salary, or his close return to the ADNOC Professional League.
Most indications are that the eastern Spanish club has advanced in negotiations with Cavani, who has not been associated with any club since his departure from Manchester United.
Indeed, several media outlets, including the “American Post” news website, reported that Cavani had undergone a medical examination on Saturday, August 20, in preparation for his signature to Villarreal.
