Who is the new President of the Presidential Council in Yemen?

Today, Thursday, Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi relinquished power, ten years following ascending to the throne as a consensual president of the country, according to the Gulf initiative before the Houthi militia overthrew his authority in late 2014.

Who is the new President of the Presidential Council in Yemen?

Major General Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi was born in the year 1954 in the isolation of Al-Aloom, Al-Mawasit District, Taiz Governorate. He received his first education in his village at the hands of his father, Judge Muhammad bin Ali Al-Alimi, and then continued his secondary education until he graduated from Jamal Abdel Nasser School in Sana’a in 1969.

Al-Alimi was injured in the explosion of the Al-Nahdain Mosque in the Presidential House during Friday prayers, which targeted the late Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh and leaders in the country on June 3, 2011. He was subsequently transferred to Saudi Arabia for treatment, and returned to Sana’a on June 13, 2012 following a year of treatment in Saudi Arabia and Germany , before leaving Sanaa once more following the coup of the Houthi militia.

Bachelor’s degree in Military Sciences from the Police College – Kuwait 1975. He was ranked third in the batch.

Bachelor of Arts from the Faculty of Arts, Sana’a University, 1977.

Master’s degree in Sociology from Ain Shams University, with distinction – Egypt 1984.

PhD in Sociology from Ain Shams University with first class honors – Egypt 1988.
