Opening batsman Abid Ali, who made a world record century in the Test match against Sri Lanka, named his historic innings in the name of his daughter.
Test cricket returned to Pakistan after 10 years with the first Test match played in Rawalpindi against Sri Lanka.
This match, badly affected by continuous rain for three days, could not be fruitful and ended in a draw, however, Abid Ali seized the opportunity and made the first innings in Test cricket memorable not only for himself but also for Pakistani fans.
He scored a century in the very first innings of his first Test match while playing a brilliant innings and set a new world record and became the first player in the world to score a century on ODI and Test debut.
Talking after the match, Abid Ali thanked for making the world record and said that I had been working hard for a long time and was waiting for a good time.

“I was nervous as I approached the century, but I give credit to Babar Azam who encouraged me and advised me to be patient, take it easy and you will get time for the century,” he said.
On this occasion, he thanked all the team members, coaching staff and fans and said that all these people gave me confidence.
Abid Ali said that no matter how much I am grateful for scoring a century on the occasion of the return of cricket after 10 years at the home ground, I dedicate this century to my daughter.
He said that this performance is the result of my parents’ prayers and I am thankful to my parents, family, media and everyone and will try to continue to perform as well as possible.
