The Egyptian director, Enas El Degheidy, revealed the reason for her refusal to marry the late great artist Mahmoud Abdel Aziz

She explained that he proposed to her at the beginning of her cinematic life, and that actress Najla Fathi was the one who nominated her.

Al-Deghaidi explained during her previous interview with the media, Basma Wahba, on the “Sheikh Al-Hara” program, which was shown on the “Cairo and the People” channel, that she refused to marry him.

Because he did not like her work in the cinema, explaining: “He would make me stay at home, and I loved one less than Mahmoud Abdel Aziz a million times in her days, and I didn’t see anyone else.”

Al-Deghaidi added that Mahmoud Abdel Aziz became her husband’s friend later, pointing out that she was very much in love with the late artist Fikri Abaza, brother of Dangoan Rushdi Abaza, when the artist Mahmoud Abdel Aziz offered her to marry.

Director Enas Al-Deghaidi said, answering a question from the media, Basma Wahba: “I was in love with Fikri Abaza at the time, and he was my colleague at the Institute of Dramatic Arts, at that time, and he almost engaged me.”

No film festival will be held in the Arab region without Egyptian cinema, and that is without fanaticism, because Egyptians are old in cinema and have a large number of films and stars.

Enas Al-Deghaidi added that she is happy when she finds a woman who decides to work in film directing, adding: “It is nice that one combines acting and directing and gets all the needs when necessary.”
