Sofia Depassier is the representative of Chile in Miss Universe, which this Saturday will experience its decisive day, with a ceremony to be held in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States.
The 80 participating women, including Chile, seek to become the successor of Harnaaz Sandhu from India, who was the last winner of the contest.
In this version, the crown is valued at 5 million dollars. The new tiara, named Blue Diamond, has a total of 993 gems, 110,083 carats of sapphire and 48,024 carats of diamond.
The final ceremony will be held this Saturday, January 14 at 10:00 p.m. in Chile, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Who is Sofia Depassier?
Sofía Depassier is the Chilean representative in Miss Universe 2023 and automatically qualified following being crowned in 2022 as Miss Chile. She is a model, an entertainer and a stylist.
The 24-year-old has lived in the United States for a few years and participated in the national contest representing the Chilean Community Abroad.
Sofia and her family suffered discrimination, intimidation and racism as a result of not knowing English and having cultural differences. As a result, she felt compelled to collaborate with other immigrants seeking a better quality of life. Driven by this passion, she created the “Universe without Borders” project, whose focus is to provide the necessary tools for children and young people who need guidance following moving to a new country.
Depassier is passionate regarding different causes related to gender equality and women’s well-being.
