This year it’s the singer Lissandro, aged 13, who represents France in the Eurovision Junior contest. “I try not to have fears. I go to Armenia to have fun, to do what I love. That’s the most important thing: fun. The rest, finally… There may be criticisms, I only take into account what can help me“, confided Lissandro, in TV 7 Days. And do not be afraid, the representative of France intends to “give it your all“to make his country win!”I can not wait to be there“, he confided to TV Magazine.
The clip of the title he defends, Oh Mom!, was unveiled more than a month before the big night. A piece that is a “delicious mix between Bruno Mars and Elvis that will make Europe groove“, had explained Alexandra Redde-Amiel, head of the French delegation to Eurovision and director of varieties of France Télévisions, in a press release. About the song, Lissandro confided in Télé 7 Jours: “This music isn’t that I like it, it’s beyond that. It totally corresponds to me, when I sing it, I live it. It’s the first time I have my own song, I like it. I even over-love her!“. Suffice to say that the candidate leaves motivated!
From now on, you will be able to vote on the Junior Eurovision website. All you have to do is choose between the 16 countries represented: Albania, Armenia, Spain, France, Georgia, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, North Macedonia, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom, Serbia and Ukraine. Voting is open until December 11 at 3:59 p.m.
Since 2016, children aged between 9 and 14 years old can participate in the competition. All songs performed by contestants must contain lyrics in the national language (or one of the national languages) of the country represented.
Junior Eurovision winners
Junior Eurovision was created in 2003 by the EBU (European Broadcasting Union). The Georgia is currently the champion with three wins in 2008, 2011 and 2016. It is followed by the Belarus, Paintedthe Poland and the Russia who all took two victories.
