The US government on Thursday planned to extradite former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández to face arms and drug trafficking charges in New York. Once a close ally of the United States, the disgraced former president will now stand trial for allegedly accepting millions of dollars from drug cartels to protect cross-border cocaine shipments.
